Double Cabana Pool & Garden Design

This pool renovation and backyard were expanded and leveled to add additional seating areas around the pool.

This client was looking to elevate and expand their smaller backyard in order to create an outdoor living oasis. When we arrived, there was an existing pool that took up most of the workable space in the yard. One of the first things we did was push the retaining wall back, originally it ran right along the back of the pool. The right side of the lawn had been existing unusable overgrown slope, which needed to be cleared and leveled to add in the cabanas and fire pit patio area. This client is very family oriented and loves to entertain, they wanted to create a backyard space for all year-round use. By expanding the lawn area, we were able to add poolside cabanas, fire pit patio seating, multiple private seating rooms, outdoor TV space and everything enhanced with seasonal plantings.

The custom wood pergola connects the two cabanas, providing an overhead ambiance and string lighting.

Having an existing pool to work with can limit our creativity. The elevation of the pool was much higher than what we wanted, which created a challenge for the back doors to flow out into the yard. Trying to figure out the proper drainage necessary was a challenging obstacle on this property. We also created bluestone lids for the auto-cover to help elevate the look of the existing pool. As well as removing and adding the back retaining wall was a major undertaking on this project.
